Finally, here it is: my new blog. When I was searching for information about Interactive Walls, the topic I wanted to write about originally, I visited the website www.huffingtonpost.com. The website calls itself “The online newspaper: news blogs video community”. Once a week I take a look around to read about new devices like the first screenshots of the iPhone 4G, the risks of watching 3D TV, and read blogs about social media and technical devices. It’s a really cool site for people who are interested in taking a glimp of the future! But while I was searching for interactive walls I read another article about Doodle Jump, the most popular paid app ever (Apple Store).
I was shocked! How is it possible that a hand-drawn game, literally, is the most popular paid app ever for the iPhone and iPad (according to one of its creators Igor Pusenjak)? The previous top paid app was Bejeweled, the game in which you have to shift jewels to get them in a row of the same color.
Doodle Jump has been downloaded 4 million times in April, with a price of 0.99dollar per download. Igor and his brother Marko, who has also built the game, have taken in 2.7 million dollar from Doodle Jump alone. The secret of the game, I think, is the simple design, it’s quick-to-play, and it is fun to take your four-legged bugger to bounce from level to level. The only thing you have to do is to tilt your phone from left to right. So what are you waiting for, go to the Apple Store and download your own Doodle Jump!
